Ten Ways to Not Handle Bad Student Behavior In Classrooms

Teaching can be a challenging profession, especially when there are little brats in the classroom the behave poorly. But what can we do to a student who is behaving poorly. Some strategies that have proven to be effective have been proximity, establishing classroom rules on day one, and being fair, firm and consistant from day one. New teaching will find handling negative student actions even more difficult. There following are methods and actions that should not be used to maintain student discipline in the classroom. At Ballslist Top Tens, we are here to help teachers. Please listen to us and do not do any of the following to improve student behavior.

10. Feed him all period so he doesn't talk. This will not do the trick to halt poor student behavior, the student still will talk out of turn but with his or her mouth full. Food will fly out of his mouth and odors will sooth out of the over-fed student's body.

9. Tell the student that Jesus Christ will damn him or her to hell if they do not behave in Room 121. More than likely the misbehaving students don't know anything about Christ and, this may give the parents who look for reasons to pursue a lawsuit some ammunition. This is not a way to stop bad student behavior.

8. Slash the student's bike tires. If you get caught going to the child's home doing this so the youth won't be able to make it to school, you will see yourself on the news. Remember, with recording options on cell phones, this action is way too risky. Find another way to improve student behavior.

7. Give student a hall pass that never expires. Eventually this trouble maker will cause damage in the hallway and it will come back to you. Try to find a way to impove student behavior with the student actually in the classroom.

6. Date the student's mother or father. This way you can have access to everything this shitty student loves. But you will soon find out that you do not love the student's mother or father either.

5. If special ed, you can send the student out of the room for extra help. This way you can legally get rid of him. Yes, pass the garbage to someone else. However, this approach will not get you voted teacher of the year amongst your peers.

4. Have some of your favorite students take him out. But be careful, make sure these students are really on your side. Also, it's important that they do not go overboard and put the trouble-making student in the hospital. This solution to bad behavior my actually take away your need for a red pen.

3. Sign the student up for the military. At least they will take him out of class.

2. Physically harm the student yourself. While this worked a hundred years ago and today in Catholic schools, this tactic to handle poor student behavior may force you to find a new job.

1. Place a burning cross in their yard. Please do not do this. People in the past have shown this is not an effective action.
